Are there many small businesses in your local area?
- Yep, there are loads of small businesses in my local area! There’s a few cafes, a beauty salon, as well as a really good bookshop. On top of that there’s a few great little family run restaurants, which I often enjoy going to.
- Yeah, there’s quite a few small businesses around here. For example, I often get my lunch from the food truck near my house, and there’s also a really cool craft beer shop that I like to visit.
What kind of small businesses are in your local area?
- Around here there are loads of different types of small businesses. For example, there’s a pet grooming shop, a really cool cafe, a vintage furniture store, a record shop and even a trampoline park!
- In my local area there’s a mix of different small businesses. I often go to the local pub, the artisan bakery as well as the local bike shop. On top of that, here’s even a cool ice cream parlour!
Do you prefer to buy things from a small business or a big company?
- I definitely prefer to buy things from small businesses. I like how they usually offer unique products and services, and I also love being able to support local businesses.
- To be honest, I’m not too fussed either way. I like to buy things from big companies sometimes because it’s often more convenient, but I also like buying from small businesses because I think it’s important to support local businesses.
Do you think it’s easy to start a small business?
- Personally, I think it really depends on the type of business you’re trying to start. For some businesses it can be pretty easy and straightforward, but for others it can be a lot more complicated. As well as that, it’s so competitive these days, that even if you do get it off the ground, it’s still going to be difficult to survive.
- I guess It could be quite tricky to start a small business. You have to think about things like getting the necessary licences and permits, as well as finding a suitable location, and making sure you have enough capital to get things off the ground.
Have you ever thought about starting your own business?
- Absolutely! I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a small business for a while now. I’ve been researching different types of businesses, like a cafe or a craft shop, but I’m not sure which one I’d like to do.
- Not really, no. Starting a business is a lot of work and I don’t really think I have the time or energy to commit to it. Plus, there’s always the risk of failure which is something I’m not willing to take.
- No, I haven’t. Running a business is a huge responsibility and it can be hard to keep up with all the paperwork and finances. Plus, it’s a lot of work and I don’t think I have the resources or skills to make it successful.
- Yeah, I have considered starting my own small business. I’ve always been interested in fashion and I’ve thought about setting up a small boutique. I’m still in the early stages of planning and researching, but I’m hoping to make it happen in the near future.
How often do you shop at small businesses?
- I try to shop at small businesses as often as I can. I usually buy my groceries from the local fresh market, I get my coffee from the independent cafe down the street, and I always pick up gifts from the craft store close to my home.
- I try to shop at small businesses at least a few times a week. For example, I usually get my lunch from a great little family run restaurant, close to my house. As well as that, I often buy any daily necessities from the local mom and pop store. It’s great to be able to support local businesses.
