Where are you from ?

“I was born and raised in Shanghai, which is one of the biggest cities in China, as well as being one of the most modern cities.

“Oh, I’m a local, and have lived here in Madrid all of my life.

“I’m from Bac Giang, which is a small city, about 60 km north of here, and is a much quieter place than here in Hanoi.

Is your hometown a big city or a smaller town?

“I’m from Shanghai, which is really a huge sprawling metropolitan, and very modern city…… and I guess these days a very international or multicultural city.

“My hometown is certainly not a big city, and I guess it’s more like a big town……. Although it is developing and expanding quickly in recent years.

your hometown IELTS“Oh… it’s actually a very small town or village, and to be honest not many people have even heard of it…. But, it is a lovely little town, and a great place to live.

Is your hometown famous for anything?

“Yes, Da Nang is very famous for its beautiful beaches, which stretch for miles along the coast…….because of this,It’s one of the biggest tourist destinations in Vietnam today.

“Yes, Dublin has so much history, and of course has a lot of very interesting historic buildings and architecture……. I think it’s also famous for being a very welcoming and tourist friendly city….. So I guess you could say it’s also famous for its people and the welcome visitors receive.

“As I mentioned, my hometown is just a small town, and it’s not really famous for anything….. Having said that, it is a really nice town and a pleasant place to visit.

What do you like most about your hometown?

“I think it’s got to be the vibe this city has…… yes, it’s very busy and crowded, but it always feels exciting, with so many things I can do and see…..It’s like this city never sleeps and I really like that. Being a big city I also have all the modern facilities and amenities i could ask for, which is another thing i love about it.

“If I had to choose one thing…. I think it’s got to be the people…. The people in my hometown are genuinely friendly, especially compared to bigger cities……. And I also like the slower pace of life, and sometimes miss that.

Has your hometown changed in recent years?

your hometown“Yes! Very much so….. There has been so much development in recent years, and a lot of other changes. I think the biggest change has been the number of new tall buildings, with a  new one appearing every week it seems. It’s also become busier and more crowded, which is something I’m not so happy about.

“Mmm…. I guess there have been some small changes, like some more apartment buildings, and a new shopping centre, but it’s still a pretty small town, and hasn’t changed so much in recent years.

What is public transport like in your hometown?

“It’s actually pretty good, and today we have many different forms of public transport. We have a great subway system, which is both cheap and fast…..there are also plenty of buses, and of course taxis…… It can get very crowded during rush hour, but overall I think it’s pretty good.

“Oh, as it’s just a small town, there is actually very little public transportation, and most people have their own car or motorbike…….. There are some buses that go to the city, but that’s about it.

Is there anything you would like to change about your hometown?

“Yes, there is….. There is a huge problem with traffic these days, and I really wish the government would try to do more about this problem. It takes me over an hour to get to work every day, which is something I really wish could change.

“Yes, there has been so much development in recent years, and it seems there are fewer and fewer green spaces……. I would love to see more parks and outdoor areas, and not just some kind of concrete jungle.

What do you like to do in your hometown in your free time? / where do you like to go in your hometown?

your hometown ielts part 1“When I’m free I like to go into the city centre, and hang out with friends in one of the many new and trendy cafes. If it’s raining or too cold I enjoy going to one of the big malls and having a look around the shops, or watching a movie.

“There are some lovely parks in the suburbs of my hometown, where I love to go to escape the hustle and bustle of the city centre…. I often go there on weekends with friends or family, and sometimes have a  barbecue, or fish in one of the lakes.

Are there any famous buildings or architecture in your hometown?

“Yes, Shanghai has many famous buildings, especially modern buildings. I guess the most famous one is the Pearl TV Tower, which is often seen in pictures or postcards of Shanghai.

your hometown ielts“My hometown has some very old historic buildings, which the people are very proud of. Some of the buildings date back hundreds of years, and attract a lot of tourists.

“To be honest, my hometown is very small, and doesn’t have any special buildings or architecture……. However , it’s only an hour away from Dublin which has many historical buildings.

Is your hometown a suitable place for living?

“Yes, I really think it is a great place for living….. We have so many public amenities, with some great schools and hospitals….. Public transportation is also very convenient, and there are lot’s of job opportunities. Having said that, there are some problems with pollution and traffic, but overall it’s a good place to live.

“Oh, Yes…. It’s a very suitable place to live, and it’s so much quieter and cleaner than the big cities. Although it may not have all the public amenities of a big city, it is so much more relaxing……. And the people are friendlier than in the big cities too…

Is there anyone famous from your hometown?

your hometown

“Yes, there are some famous singers and sports stars from Shanghai, as well as some famous people from history, which is something people here take great pride in.

“To be honest I don’t think so….. But, there might be one or two people who are well known or famous locally….. For example there is a local band who are very popular, but certainly not famous outside of my hometown.
