“I remember during my senior year in high school, I had the opportunity to work with a classmate named Lily on a presentation project.
From the moment we were paired up, I knew that we would make a great team. Lily was not only intelligent and hardworking, but she also had a great sense of humour and a down-to-earth personality.
We worked together on multiple brainstorming sessions, dividing our tasks equally and bouncing ideas off each other.
Lily was always open to hearing my suggestions and incorporating them into our project. She had a natural ability to bring out the best in our team, and her positive energy motivated us to work harder and strive for excellence.
What I admired most about Lily was her ability to stay calm under pressure and effectively manage our time. She had a knack for turning a stressful situation into a fun and productive one. She also had a way of making everyone feel valued and appreciated, creating a positive and inclusive team dynamic.
Overall, I believe Lily was an outstanding team leader because she embodied all the qualities of a great leader . She was extremely confident, had excellent communication skills, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Thanks to her, our presentation was a huge success and our team received high praise from our teacher.
Working with Lily was not only a fun and enjoyable experience,I also learned the importance of teamwork and effective leadership.

The idiom “down to earth” means to be practical, humble, and sensible.
Example: Despite being a famous actor, he remains down to earth and values simple things in life.
To bring out the best in someone/something means to bring out the most positive or admirable qualities or capabilities in them/it.
Example: My coach always knows how to bring out the best in me, pushing me to work harder and achieve my goals.
To have a knack for something means to have a natural ability or talent for it.
Example: My brother has a knack for music and can easily play any instrument he picks up.

“I remember, about 3 or 4 months ago,I had the great pleasure of working with one of my classmates and friends, Emily, on a university project.
We were both part of a team that was responsible for organising different events and activities for our campus community.
Emily was a natural leader, always stepping up to take charge and make sure things were running smoothly.
She was always one step ahead, anticipating any potential issues and finding solutions before they even arose.
She had a knack for delegating tasks and making sure everyone was on the same page, which helped our team function cohesively.
One of the things I admired most about Emily was her ability to remain calm and collected, even when under a lot of pressure. There were times when things didn’t go as planned, but she always kept a level head and found a way to make the best of the situation.
What I appreciated the most about Emily was her inclusive and collaborative leadership style. She valued everyone’s input and made sure each team member felt heard and valued. She knew how to bring out the best in each of us and motivated us to work harder towards our common goals.
She was not only a great leader, but also a great team player, and I was lucky to have worked with her during our time in university.

To be on the same page means to share the same understanding or opinions about a situation.
Example: We need to have a meeting to make sure we are all on the same page about the new project.

What qualities do you think a good team leader should have?
“Wow!, that’s a good question, let me think about that. I guess a good team leader should be able to communicate effectively and listen to their team members.
They should also be quite organised, responsible, and have strong decision-making skills.
As well as that, a good leader should be able to inspire and motivate their team, while also being approachable and understanding.
Another quality they should have is to be able to lead by example and be a positive role model for their team.
Personally, I believe a good team leader should also be able to handle conflicts and delegate tasks effectively.
All in all, a good team leader should be someone who can bring out the best in their team and help them achieve their goals together.”
Do you think that it’s important for children to learn to work together as a team?
“Yes, absolutely! I strongly believe it is crucial for children to learn how to work together as a team.
Teamwork provides so many valuable skills that will benefit children both in school and in their future careers.
By working with others, children learn how to communicate effectively, share ideas, and solve problems together.
I believe that these skills are essential for success in any field, whether it’s sports, academics, or the workplace.
What’s more, teamwork fosters a sense of camaraderie and teaches children how to support and encourage one another, leading to a positive and inclusive environment.
Personally,I think that learning to work together as a team is a crucial lesson that children should be taught from a young age.”
Do you think that a team’s best player always makes the best leader?
“Well,Personally, I don’t believe that a team’s best player always makes the best leader.
While it’s true that their skills and abilities may make them stand out, being a leader requires much more than just being a talented player.
Qualities such as communication, humility, and empathy are also crucial for effective leadership.
On top of that, a great leader should also focus on the success of the entire team, rather than just their own individual success.
I believe that in any field or walk of life that sometimes the best leaders are not always the most skilled players, but those who can inspire and unite the team.”
Why do you think that some people don’t enjoy working as part of a team?
“Well, I guess, there could be several reasons why some people may not enjoy working as part of a team.
Firstly, it could be due to a lack of confidence or social skills, making it challenging to communicate or collaborate effectively with others.
As well as that, some people may prefer to work independently as they feel they can be more productive and make decisions on their own.
Another reason might be, differences in opinions, conflicts, and unequal distribution of the workload can also discourage individuals from working as part of a team.
Ultimately, everyone has different preferences, and not everyone enjoys teamwork, and that’s okay.”
