Describe a place you would like to visit

Describe a place you would like to visit in the future

You should say:

  • What and where it is
  • When you would like to go there
  • What you would like to do or see there

And explain why you would like to visit this place

Example 1.

describe a place you would like to visit“I would absolutely love to visit Sapa in Vietnam, which is an absolutely  stunning mountainous region in the North West of the country.

I’d like to go there in the springtime, when the weather is warmer and the landscape is lush and green, as I have heard that the winters can actually be quite cold.

Once there, I’d really want to explore the area and take in all of its natural wonders. I would love to take a hike through some of the trails and enjoy the stunning views of the mountains and valleys.

Another thing I’d do is visit the local markets as well as sample the delicious local cuisine, which I think is very different to the food in other parts of Vietnam. I also want to visit some of the historical sites and learn more about the culture.

I guess the main reason I would like to go to Sapa is because of its unbelievably  beautiful scenery. The air is fresh, the views are breathtaking, and I’ve heard that the locals are incredibly friendly.

I think it would be a truly amazing place, and I’m sure I would treasure the memory forever.

Thank you.”

Example 2.

describe a place you would like to visit in the future“A place I’d really love to visit is the Philippines, a beautiful Southeast Asian country located in the Pacific Ocean. I’d love to go during the summer when the weather is warmer and the beaches are just begging for me to take a dip, as I’m really into swimming.

Once I got there, I think I’d really want to explore the many islands and beaches that the country has to offer. I would love to go snorkelling and explore the underwater world, as well as take a hike through some of the lush forests that the Philippines is known for.

As well as that, I also want to visit some of the famous historical sites and learn more about the culture, as well as sample the local cuisine.

The main reason why I would like to go to the Philippines is because of its amazing natural beauty. The beaches are so pristine, the water is crystal clear, the landscape is breathtaking and the locals are incredibly friendly.

It is truly a paradise, and I am sure that I would have a blast. I Could just relax on the beach, go snorkelling, or explore the many sights and sounds that the country has to offer. I really hope I can  make this dream a reality someday.

Thank you.”

Describe a place that you would like to visit – Part 3

Do people in your country like to travel during the holidays?

“I think, generally speaking, most people in my country love to travel during the holidays. From family road trips to international flights, you’ll find lots of people on the move during the holiday season. Whether it’s to visit relatives, take a beach vacation, or go skiing, most people love to get away and make the most of their time off.

Schools and universities usually close for a few weeks around Christmas and New Year, making it a perfect time to take a break. Many people head to nearby cities or countries for a short getaway. Others prefer to stay in their home city and explore what it has to offer.

As well as that, with the help of budget airlines and affordable accommodation, it’s now easier than ever to travel on a budget. So people can enjoy a holiday without breaking the bank. Plus, it’s a great way to make the most of the extra days off.”

Why do you think that some people prefer to stay at home rather than travel during a holiday?

“Well, I guess that some people prefer to stay at home during a holiday because they may find it more comfortable and relaxing. You don’t have to worry about packing, planning, making sure you have everything you need, or getting to your destination.

On top of that, staying at home also allows you to spend more quality time with family or friends. You can take advantage of all the local activities your city has to offer, like going to the park, trying a new restaurant, or catching a show. Plus, you don’t have to worry about going over budget.

What’s more I guess some people just love the idea of staying home and taking a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As well as that, during  public holidays, and weekends most of the popular destinations become over-crowded, and this is something that many people don’t actually enjoy, so sometimes it’s maybe better to just stay at home.”

Do you think that younger people like to visit the same kinds of places as older people?

a place you would like to visit in the future“Well generally speaking, I think maybe young people often like to visit different places than older people.

Young people typically prefer to explore new places, take risks, and experience things they’ve never done before. For instance, they may want to go bungee jumping or skydiving, whereas older people may prefer a more leisurely activity such as bird watching or visiting a museum.

Having said that, young people can also appreciate the same kinds of places as older people. For example, they may want to visit historical sites, monuments, or parks, just like older people would.

Personally, I like to explore new places and try out different activities, but I also enjoy going to places that are more familiar and comfortable. So, I guess it really just depends on people’s mood and what they are in the mood to do. I believe everyone should take the time to do something that makes them happy, regardless of their age.”

Do you think that tourism has any negative effects?

“Personally, I think yes, tourism can certainly have some negative effects. For example, it can put a strain on the local infrastructure, like public transportation, roads, and housing, as well as the environment.

As well as that, it can lead to an increase in pollution and noise levels, which can be disruptive to the local community.

On top of that, there can be a cultural clash when tourists don’t adhere to the local customs and norms, which can be disrespectful to the local people.

Having said that, I think that tourism can be a great way to bring economic opportunities to an area and learn about different cultures, but it’s important to also be mindful of the potential negative impacts.

I really think that It’s essential to ensure that local businesses and the environment are being respected and treated responsibly. That way, we can continue to enjoy and benefit from tourism without causing any harm.”
