Describe an advertisement that you don’t like
Describe an advertisement that you don’t like
You should say:
- What it was
- Where you saw it
- What it was about
And explain why you didn’t like it.
“Just recently I saw an advertisement that I really can’t stand. It was one of those obnoxious commercials that just won’t go away. The ad was for a new energy drink, and the tagline was “Unleash the Beast Within You.”
I think the first time I saw it was a couple of months ago when browsing some music videos on youtube.
It showed a couple of pumped up guys running around, doing extreme sports and just generally looking like they were having way too much fun. I really hate that ad for a few reasons.
Firstly, it gives the idea that you have to be some kind of macho man in order to be cool. As well as that, it was selling a kind of energy drink, which are usually packed full of sugar and other unhealthy chemicals. What’s more, it was just incredibly cheesy and annoying.
The whole thing just made me want to roll my eyes, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who doesn’t like this advertisement. I understand that companies have to be creative to get people’s attention, but this ad just felt like it was trying too hard. It was almost like they wanted to cram as many stereotypes as possible into 30 seconds.
I’m sure the company behind this ad is hoping it will be a hit, but I can tell you that they won’t be getting any of my business, and in my opinion, it’s just another example of bad advertising. “
Thank you.

Describe an advertisement that you don’t like – Part 3
What forms of advertisements are common today?
Today, we’re bombarded with many forms of advertisements from all angles. Social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook have become a hotbed for sponsored content, allowing businesses to target potential customers with ads tailored to their interests.
As well as that, television commercials are still going strong, along with radio, billboards, and even print ads. A big one that’s been gaining traction lately is influencer marketing, where celebrities or social media personalities are hired to promote a product or service.
All in all, it’s a crazy world out there for modern advertising, but it’s a great way for businesses to get their message out there.
Do you think it’s ok to advertise to children?
No, I don’t think it’s ok to advertise to children. Kids are so impressionable and it’s wrong to try to manipulate them into buying things they don’t need.
I remember as a kid being bombarded with ads for toys and snacks and feeling like I had to have them. It’s not fair to try to take advantage of kids in this way.
Advertising to children can also encourage them to focus on materialistic things, which isn’t healthy. We should be teaching kids to be mindful and to appreciate what they have, not encouraging them to spend money they don’t have.
Why do you think that many people don’t like advertisements?
Well personally,I think one reason why people don’t like ads is because they often come across as being very intrusive and can be disruptive to our daily lives. We’re constantly bombarded with ads on TV, radio, Internet and even on our phones. These ads can be annoying and some of them can be seen as scams or as just trying to sell us something we don’t need.
As well as that, people also don’t like ads because they can be misleading or can make false promises.
What’s more, people don’t like ads because they can take up a lot of our time and attention, which can be frustrating.I believe that ads can be seen as intrusive, disruptive, and a waste of time, so it’s understandable that so many people don’t like them.
