Describe a water sport you would like to do in the future

You should say:

  • What it would be
  • Where you would do it
  • Would it be easy or difficult to learn

And explain why you would like to try it

  • Example 1

a water sport you would like to try“A water sport that I’d really love to try in the future is surfing. I’ve always been really drawn to the ocean, and I think it would be an awesome experience to just be out there, riding the waves and feeling the power of the water. Plus, it looks really cool!

I’m pretty sure it wouldn’t be easy, and certainly not a walk in the park to learn, but that’s part of the appeal for me. I’m no doubt that there’s a certain level of difficulty in mastering the art of surfing, but I’m always up for a challenge. As well as that,I’m also a bit of an adrenaline junkie, so I’m sure the rush of riding a wave would be an amazing feeling.

I think surfing would also be a great way to stay active and to enjoy the outdoors. On top of that, I think it’s always important to challenge yourself and take on new experiences, so why not?

I’m also very interested in the culture of surfing, as It seems like a very laid-back and carefree lifestyle that I’d love to be a part of. So, yeah, that’s why I’d love to give it a try and see if it’s something I would enjoy.

At the end of the day, I think it would be really cool to be able to say that I can surf, and  It’s definitely something on my bucket list for the future.

Thank you.”

Idioms

A “walk in the park” is an idiom that means something is easy. For example, if someone says “the maths test was a walk in the park,” it means the test was really easy.

An adrenaline junkie is someone who craves excitement and thrills. They’re usually up for anything that will get their heart racing. For example, someone who loves bungee jumping, skydiving, and other extreme sports could be considered an adrenaline junkie.

To get a rush means to experience a sudden surge of excitement, energy, or adrenaline. For example, when you go on a roller coaster ride, you get a rush of adrenaline as you go down the steep drops.

A bucket list is a list of experiences and goals that you hope to achieve in your lifetime. For example, going skydiving, seeing the Northern Lights, or travelling to a certain country are all things that could be on someone’s bucket list. It’s a fun way to make sure you’re making the most out of life and pursuing your dreams.

  • Example 2

describe a water sport you would like to try“A water sport I would be really keen to try in the future would have to be scuba diving . What could be better than exploring the depths of the ocean and discovering all of its hidden secrets? To me It really sounds like the ultimate adventure, and I can’t wait to give it a go.

From what I’ve heard, scuba diving is quite an involved activity, and you need to get qualified in order to do it safely, so it’s not something that can be done on a whim. But that’s part of the appeal for me. It feels like a real challenge, and I’m not one to shy away from a good challenge.

I love being in the water, and I’m also a pretty confident swimmer, so I think I could handle the physical aspect of scuba diving. As well as that, I’m also a bit of a thrill seeker, so I think it would be a really exciting experience. I can’t help but think of all the amazing things I could see underwater, from coral reefs to tropical fish. It really would be like a totally different world.

I think scuba diving would be a difficult activity to master, but with the right training and equipment it would be totally worth it, and I can’t wait to take the plunge and give it a go!”

Thank you.”

  • Idioms

On a whim means to do something spontaneously without much thought or planning. For example, “I decided to buy a new car on a whim.”

To shy away from something means to avoid it or stay away from it. For example: “She shied away from confrontation and tried to stay away from any potential arguments.

A thrill seeker is someone who seeks out and enjoys thrilling or exciting experiences. Example: “My niece loves roller coasters, so she’s definitely a thrill seeker.”

To take the plunge means to take a risk or to go ahead and do something difficult or daring. Example: “After thinking it over for months, she finally decided to take the plunge and move to a new city.”

Describe a water sport you would like to try in the future – IELTS speaking part 3.

What kinds of water sports are popular in your country?

“Well, I think there are a number of water sports that are really popular these days!

I guess swimming is always popular, and is always a great way to cool down during the hot summer months. As well as that, I think swimming is something that is enjoyed by people of all ages.

As well as that, kayaking and paddle boarding have become quite popular in recent years, especially with younger people.

Surfing is of course another water activity that a lot of people seem to enjoy these days, although ___________ is  not well known for its big waves.

On top of that, I also think more and more people are exploring more extreme water sports like wakeboarding, kiteboarding, and even parasailing.

There’s something for everyone when it comes to water sports, great, and In my opinion, water sports are an awesome way to stay active, explore the outdoors, and have some fun.”

Why do you think that many people like to do activities at or near the water?

“I guess many people enjoy activities on or near the water because it is a great way to relax and have fun. Water activities like boating, fishing, or swimming, can be a really great way to connect with nature, and people often find that they are more relaxed and calm when they are near the water.

What’s more, these activities can be great for exercising and spending some much needed quality time with friends and family.

On top of that, there really is nothing quite like the feeling of being out on the water with the sun shining on a beautiful day!”

Do you think that it’s important for people to learn to swim?

a water sport you would want to try in the future“Personally, I believe that swimming is an incredibly important skill that everyone should learn. Not only is it highly beneficial for a person’s physical health, but it can also be a huge lifesaver in emergency situations. For example, if someone were to fall into deep water, being able to swim could be the difference between life and death.

As well as that, swimming can also be an enjoyable activity and a great way to socialise with friends and family. So, yes, In my opinion, it’s essential for everyone to learn to swim, no matter what age.”

Do you think that it’s important for a country to have enough water facilities for leisure?

“Absolutely! I think that having enough water facilities for leisure is essential for a country. It allows people to enjoy the outdoors in many different ways, from swimming pools and water parks to rivers and lakes.

As well as that it’s a really great way to stay in shape, have fun, and relax. On top of that, it gives people an opportunity to explore and appreciate nature, which can be a great stress relief, as well as being very important for children.

What’s more, it encourages people to come together and socialise, which can have positive impacts on the whole community. All in all, I believe that water facilities for leisure provide many mental and physical benefits, and should be a priority for any country.”
