Describe a public facility that has been renovated or improved

You should say:

  • What and where it is
  • When it was renovated or improved
  • How it changed

And explain how you feel about it

Describe a public facility that has been renovated “One of the public facilities that has recently undergone a massive renovation in my hometown is the public park located right in the heart of the city.

The park, which is just a stone’s throw away from my house, was previously a small and neglected space with outdated play equipment and muddy paths.

However, after months of construction work, it has now transformed into a very modern and vibrant recreational centre for people of all ages to enjoy.

The renovations, which were completed just last month, have brought about significant changes to the park. Firstly, the playground has been upgraded with state-of-the-art equipment, including a new swing set, slides, and climbing structures.

As well as that, walking paths have also been paved, making it easier for visitors to take a leisurely stroll.

Another great addition is that, there are now lots of picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park, allowing families to have a picnic while enjoying the scenic views.

It’s so heartwarming to see people of all ages and backgrounds coming together in one place, making the community feel more connected. It’s now a place where people can escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and connect with nature, making it a true green oasis for our city.

Thank you.”

Describe a public facility that has been renovated or improved – IELTS speaking part 2

Do you think that there are enough public facilities in your  hometown?

Describe a public facility that has been renovated or improved“Yeah, I believe that there are actually enough public facilities to meet the needs of the community in my city.

For instance, there are multiple parks, libraries, and community centres for people to utilise.

As well as that, there are well-maintained roads with a pretty good selection of public transportation options, making it easy to access these facilities.

Mind you, I guess there could always be improvements in terms of accessibility for those with disabilities and the quality of facilities in certain areas.

However, overall, I believe that my hometown has adequate public facilities, even though there is always room for improvements to better serve the community.”

What are the benefits of public facilities?

“In my opinion, I think that public facilities are absolutely essential for the well-being and convenience of individuals and communities.

These facilities are accessible to all members of society and provide a variety of benefits.

I believe that they contribute to a better quality of life by promoting physical and mental health, education, and recreation.

For example, public parks and libraries offer free and safe spaces for people to exercise, learn, and socialise.

What’s more, public transportation systems make commuting easier and reduce traffic congestion.

Such facilities not only enhance the quality of life for individuals but also contribute to the overall well-being and growth of society.

In my opinion, investing in public facilities is extremely important as it leads to a healthier, more educated, and connected society.”

Why do you think that some forms of public transportation are unpopular?

Describe a public facility that has been improved“Well, I guess there are various reasons for the unpopularity of certain forms of public transportation.

One major factor could be the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the system. For instance, if a train or bus is frequently delayed or overcrowded, it can discourage people from using it.

As well as that, the lack of proper maintenance and sanitation can also contribute to the dislike of certain forms of public transportation.

Another reason could be that the available routes and schedules may not align with people’s daily commute, making it inconvenient.

For example, some small towns may have infrequent bus services, making it difficult for people to rely on them.

Personally , I think that investing in modern technology and regular maintenance can improve the image of public transportation and make it more appealing to the public.”

Do you think that public facilities can make people’s lives happier?

“Yeah, certainly,I think that public facilities can make people’s lives happier because they provide opportunities for individuals and communities to come together and engage in meaningful activities.

For instance, public parks offer a space for people to exercise, have picnics, or play sports, as well as boosting their physical and mental well-being.

Similarly, public libraries allow individuals to access knowledge and information, which can enhance their personal growth and overall satisfaction.

As well as that, these facilities also promote a sense of connection and belonging to a community, creating a happier society.”
